Thank you for th post. Sad times abound. Query about the image by Chris Juhn . To my untrained eye the right side looks obviously manipulated. Do you know if that was done _by_ the credited photographer or if it was done _to_ his work? Chris Juhn is described as being 'skilled in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom for image enhancement in progress, and he was actively photographing the Minneapolis ICE protests.'
The to -my-eye enhanced comparison image is circulating on social media platforms like Facebook, an We-Chat, but I haven't found any authoritative source discussing who created the manipulated (right) version or why?
It may seem like a minor point, but this image and others are circulating wide and wild behind the GFWofChina and viewed as 'fact'.
It is commonplace for photographers to make adjustments to their pictures using Photoshop and other tools. The fact that Chris Juhn has a professional website identifying him as a photographer in Minneapolis makes me highly confident these photos are real.
Yea, and thanx. Good Call. The posts circulating here behind the Great Firewall have captions and comments that refer to "flames" engulfing a protester. BUT there is a video at the site that shows what looks like some form of pepperball being deployed, with red or orange powder, _not flames_.
As an aside, However, guidelines note that intentionally targeting an individual’s head, face, neck, or throat with pepper balls can be classified as a use of deadly force. Minimum Safety Distance: Manufacturer safety data sheets (MSDS) warn against launching pepper balls at a range closer than 20 feet. So there is that. Thanx again.
An absolutely beautiful poem!

The original BlueSky post that includes these pics can be found here: https://bsky.app/profile/aramshabanian.bsky.social/post/3mbwdntpo322k
There are multiple videos showing ICE agents shooting citizens at point-blank range with teargas. Example: https://bsky.app/profile/chrisjustice01.bsky.social/post/3mbugjl2jvk2j
